
Welcome to Timaru Kyokushin Karate, supporting e-learning and blended delivery of karate to New Zealand.
Timaru Kyokushin Karate is a member of New Zealand Karate Organisation Kyokushin Kaikan Inc which is affiliated to the International Karate Organisation headed by Kancho Shokei Matsui based in Japan with over 10 million members in 120 countries around the world. Shihan Stephen Takiwa is the Branch Chief in New Zealand.
The Timaru Dojo is situated halfway down the East coast of New Zealand's South Island and was established in 1995.

This site will lead you through the Syllabus for the ten Kyu Grades in twenty steps for each Grade. The Shodan Syllabus is included as well as reference material for all Grades.

There are now two other Dojos established in Waimate and Fairlie. The Waimate Dojo is half an hour south of Timaru at the Waimate Centennial School Hall. The Fairlie Dojo is 40 mins inland at the St Patricks Parish Hall.
